Glanbia Performance Nutrition is a wholly owned subsidiary of Glanbia headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois. GPN manufactures and markets the full range of performance nutrition products including protein, pre-workout, muscle gainers and general health. Products are sold through a variety of channels including specialty retail, the internet and gyms in a variety of formats including powders, bars and Ready-to-Drink beverages. GPN has a global and expanding footprint with a current in-market presence in 24 countries.

Job Summary & Responsibilities:

In this role, you’ll be a key contributor to our R&D product development team and will gain valuable experience supporting our business. You will work in a variety of areas within R&D such as product formulation, bench top development, nutritional analysis, sensory testing, pilot plant runs and production runs. Throughout the summer you will own a key project relating to a relevant R&D initiative and have the opportunity to present your insights and recommendations for business leadership. Outside of this, you will partake in several development workshops and build connections with your Intern class and our business leaders through social & networking events.

Expected Outcomes:

• Basic knowledge of formula development within a variety of formats.
• Exposure to our commercialization process.
• Experience working in our lab, plant, and sensory spaces.
• Active participation in all Pure Ambition program activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current junior undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree majoring in Food Science or related field.
• Clear written communication and strong interpersonal skills
• Self-starter and highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois. This range may not be applicable to other locations. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range.  Annual salary for Illinois - based employees for this role is $22.00 to $25.00 per hour.
