Credentialing Specialist – Managed Care / Payer Enrollment

Healthcare Administration | Competitive Pay | Hybrid Potential

We are seeking an experienced Credentialing Specialist to support payer enrollment and hospital credentialing activities within a managed care environment. This role is ideal for professionals with multiple years of provider credentialing experience who can independently manage complex credentialing workflows across multiple facilities.

The Credentialing Specialist will act as a liaison between medical group offices, hospital administration, and payers while ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant credentialing processes.

Pay:

  • Up to $30/hour , with flexibility for highly experienced candidates
  • Strong consideration given to candidates with 3+ years of experience and multi-hospital responsibility

Schedule:

  • Full-time
  • Monday–Friday
  • Day shift

Work Environment:

  • Healthcare administrative / managed care setting
  • High-volume, detail-driven role
  • Collaboration with providers, clinics, and hospital leadership

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payer enrollment, pro-fee enrollment, and hospital credentialing/re-credentialing for physicians and advanced practice providers
  • Review applications for accuracy and completeness; prepare and distribute requests for information
  • Enter and maintain credentialing data in credentialing databases and CAQH
  • Verify licensure, DEA, board certifications, malpractice coverage, and background checks
  • Track and manage expirables including state licenses, DEA, and board certifications
  • Monitor demographic, practice, and coverage changes and ensure updates are reflected accurately
  • Maintain organized and confidential provider credential files
  • Respond to inquiries from clinics, providers, and leadership regarding credentialing status
  • Cross-train across credentialing functions to support departmental efficiency

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in payer enrollment and/or hospital credentialing
  • Strong knowledge of Joint Commission and NCQA credentialing standards
  • Experience managing multiple facilities or hospitals preferred
  • Proficiency with credentialing databases (Visual Cactus experience a plus)
  • Strong organizational, data entry, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with limited supervision
