We are seeking an entry-level Directional Drill Operator to join our team in Boise ID . In this role you will assist our underground drill teams to complete assigned projects working around both standard and high-risk areas with live utilities.

The Role

  • Assists drill operators and locators with equipment to complete assigned projects
  • Will work in and around both standard and high-risk areas with live utilities
  • Will learn about utility depths and placements
  • Ensures vehicles equipment and tools are properly maintained in good repair and secured in a safe manner
  • Reviews field designs and work with drill team to communicate discrepancies to supervisor for change orders
  • Properly documents all work completed to include pothole and bore logs
  • Will learn and assist with conduit splicing vault/pedestal placement and fiber/coax placement as needed
  • Completes general restoration and cleanup
  • Completes all projects with safety as the #1 priority ensuring compliance with internal safety standards and all governmental orders
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Underground telecommunications construction or installation experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to travel daily out of state as needed with company provided accommodations and per diems
  • Ability to work outside of business hours when needed overtime holidays evenings weekends all seasons
  • Excellent customer service time management problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • High level of energy motivation and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task shifting from one task to another without interruption
  • Ability to work with a noise level from moderate to loud
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70lbs as needed
  • Ability to complete work outdoors in tight spaces or elevated by bending reaching twisting climbing in all weather conditions year round
  • Ability to safely work and navigate various terrains managing equipment safety equipment and tools
  • Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a drivers license is required if the role involves driving
  • Class A CDL ideal but not required
  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR Background Check Drug Screen)
