Position Overview:
The Credentialing Specialist is accountable to the Healthcare Advisors for the execution of responsibilities and activities. The Credentialing Specialist will carry out duties that will include clerical work; communications with outside agencies, organizations and clients; and special projects as assigned by the Healthcare Advisors. This is a full time position with traditional office hours.

Position Scope:
The Credentialing Specialist’s position requires a significant degree of self-direction, accuracy and attention to details, and initiative to keep pace with deadlines. It requires interaction with employees, client representatives and outside agencies. Though credentialing or billing experience is a plus, it is not required. The team will provide ample training. What matters most is your ability to stay organized, communicate clearly, manage multiple tasks, and work effectively within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Activities:

  • Receives, evaluates and organizes confidential data for healthcare organizations, physicians and providers.
  • Completes enrollment applications to credential and contract medical providers with insurance companies and government agencies.
  • Monitors the credentialing application process and provides frequent updates to Healthcare Advisors and clients, including identifying issues and addressing solutions.
  • Prepares and maintains documents, reports, spreadsheets and communications within computer software for Healthcare Advisors.
  • Becomes a “super user” of credentialing software and websites utilized on a daily basis.


Education & Experience:

  • An associate's degree or higher is required.
  • A bachelor's degree (or progress toward one) is preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in administrative, operations, healthcare, education, legal, or customer service roles is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to execute plans in a timely manner.
  • Must be a self-starter who requires minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with computer software to produce reports, documents and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of employees, vendors and the public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
