Job Description

Litigation Attorney

Position Summary
An established law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its Litigation Practice Group. This role involves managing a diverse caseload, with a primary focus on insurance defense, along with select plaintiff and defense matters involving fiduciary duty, contract disputes, fair housing complaints, covenant enforcement, judicial foreclosures, and other real estate–related litigation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage district court cases (and select county or administrative matters) from intake through resolution, including trial, appeal, or settlement
  • Conduct case evaluations, discovery, legal research, and drafting of pleadings and motions
  • Communicate with clients regarding strategy, progress, and outcomes

  • Lead and participate in client meetings as needed

  • Contribute to business development initiatives

Qualifications

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Colorado

  • 7–10 years of litigation experience; district court trial and/or insurance defense experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently from start to finish

Required Skills

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and editing skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and attention to detail under deadlines

  • Proactive, independent work style
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with Practice Master (or similar case management software) and NetDocuments (or similar document management systems) preferred
  • Portable book of business is a plus
