What You’ll Be Doing

As a student on our Industrials Investment Banking team, you will be making a real difference to our clients by helping to provide customized financing and advisory solutions. With offices located in Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia and Australia, our Global Investment Banking group provides equity and debt underwriting as well as corporate finance advisory services to corporations and institutions through a number of industry and product groups. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a group of professionals ranging from Analysts to Managing Directors who are dedicated to advising clients.

The Summer Analyst will support senior bankers with the industry coverage, strategic advisory, and deal execution required to help our clients succeed. In addition to working with the Global Diversified Group the Analyst will always gain experience collaborating with other teams across CIBC including CIBC Cleary Gull, Debt Capital Markets and Equity Capital Markets to perform day to day responsibilities.

  • Expected graduation date of December 2027 – June 2028

  • Research and Analytics – Provide a broad range of analytical, research and presentation preparation support to the team
  • Project Management ̶ Assigned to a variety of transactions and advisory projects such as mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, equity and debt financings, strategic advisory/alternatives projects and full capital structure solution projects
  • Relationship Management ̶ Gain exposure to working with individuals from various groups across the firm and our team approach to executing coverage and financing assignments is designed to provide progressive on the job training

Well-developed written and verbal communication skills sufficient to provide detailed explanation and interpretation of factual and conceptual information and ideas related to complex technical and conceptual issues. Unquestioned professionalism, ethics and reputation and proven ability to exercise strong independent judgment when making business decisions and/or representing CIBC Capital Markets.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary of $115,000 (pro-rated for the 10-week internship program) for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
